It’s a LIVE MUSIC SESSION with the one and only GRAHAM BUXTON…
Graham Buxton is a Cambridgeshire-based singer/songwriter and guitarist. He has recently been performing solo gigs across the UK, in addition to his collaborative efforts.
In 1977 Graham became lead singer for the band “Black Velvet” and worked in clubs and pubs across the UK. In 1980, he joined his first original material band “The Agents”, where, for the first time ever in a in a recording studio (Spaceward), Graham made his first EP.
From 1982-2002 Graham moved from “The Agents” to up and coming band “Out of the East”, and formed “Camera Shy” who were later managed by Don Airey of Whitesnake, Deep Purple & Ozzy Osbourne fame. With this band, Graham was voted best singer in the first Cambridge Rock Band Competition. During this period, in 1984, Graham joined covers band “The Jailbreakers”, who later went on to perform original material as “The Sun Kings”.
Graham has toured all over the world alongside many famous artists, including Shane Ritchie, Joe Pasquali, Mike Reid, D:ream and the legendary Sir George Martin (the Beatles’ producer, arranger and mentor) in the famous Abbey Road Studios.
In 2002, he joined established Cambridge band “The Lonely” with former “Katrina and the waves” members Bob Jakins and Kimberley (Walkin’ on Sunshine) Rew, and he continues to work with them.
In 2008, Graham formed a songwriting partnership, known as “The Strawheads” with former “Sun Kings” member Steve Bottomley. One of their songs was played at St James’ Park stadium to an audience of 52,000 people.
